Eco-Home
Deanshanger

This is a new home on an edge of a village site for a local Doctor and his wife. They are very keen to have an extremely low energy home, organic in nature, and recessive in the landscape. They are both interested in gardening and wanted a ‘green-home’ incorporated in the home.

The home nestles into a shallow south facing hill side. The section follows the curve of the hill and the home rises from a single story through two story area to a single story upper level, trapping the covered tropical garden between.
The site is composed of ragstone close to the surface. Excavation for a carp pond with produce stone to be used as by the client to surround the shell in daystone walling. It is intended that the home will achieve CSH level 6.
